Continued Growth
The 1990s were a time of continued growth for The Coca-Cola Company. The Company had a long association with sports and it was strengthened during this decade. With the many ongoing support of the Olympic Games, the National Basketball Association, the FIFA World Cup,and the Rugby World Cup. Coca-Cola classic became the Official Soft Drink of NASCAR racing. This connected the brand with one of the world's fastest growing and most popular spectator sports.
In 1993 the introduction of the popular "Always Coca-Cola" advertising campaign began, and the world met the lovable Coca-Cola Polar Bear for the first time. Coca-Cola products were now beginning to be sold in East Germany in 1990 and returned to India 3 years later in 1993.
New Beverages
New beverages joined the Company's line-up, including Dasani Bottled Water, Powerade sports drink, and Qoo children's fruit drink. The Company's family of brands further expanded throughout the world. The company's acquisitions including Barq's root beer in the U.S, Inca Kola in Peru, Thums Up in Indi Cadbury Schweppes' beverage and other brands in more than 120 countries around the world. By 1997, the Company was already selling 1 billion servings of its products every day, but still knew that opportunity for growth was still around every corner.
Coca-Cola Now
Coca-Cola brought refreshment to people in a small Atlanta pharmacy in 1886. Well into its second century, the Company's goal is still to provide magic every time someone drinks one of its many beverages. Coca-Cola has fans from Coast to Coast to Budapest to Bahrain, drinking brands such as Ambasa, Vegitabeta and Frescolita. Even in the remotest parts of the world, you can find and still get Coca-Cola.
Coca-Cola is committed to paying attention to what people from different cultures and backgrounds like to drink, and how and where they want to drink it. With its many bottling partners, the Company reaches out to the many local communities it serves, believing that Coca-Cola was made to benefit and refresh everyone it touches.
